The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially opened its online portals for school recognition and the upload of Continuous Assessment Scores (CASS) for the upcoming 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Schools intending to present candidates for the 2025 WASSCE are urged to complete their recognition processes and upload the necessary CASS data within the designated timeframes.
In a statement released on Monday, Mr. A. Adebolu, Head of Exams for the Branch Controller, informed school principals about the opening of the portals.
The statement, titled “WASSCE (SC) 2025: OPENING OF ONLINE PORTALS FOR SCHOOL RECOGNITION AND UPLOAD OF CASS 1 & 2,” provides crucial details for schools participating in the examination.
According to the statement, the school recognition portal will be accessible from September 2 to December 13, 2024, for new schools.
Schools seeking approval to present candidates for the 2025 WASSCE are advised to make the necessary payments and complete their application processes within this period.
“The CASS upload portal for CASS 1 & 2 will be open from September 2 to December 20, 2024,” the statement noted.
Schools are encouraged to upload their CASS 1 & 2 data before the deadline, as the portal will close at midnight on the specified dates. Any requests submitted after the closure will not be entertained.
The announcement follows the recent release of the 2024/25 WAEC results, where 72.9% of the 1,805,216 candidates who sat for the exam obtained credits in five subjects, including both Mathematics and English language.
However, the results also showed a 7.6% decrease in performance compared to the previous year, with 215,267 results withheld due to examination malpractice.
As the 2025 WASSCE approaches, WAEC emphasized the importance of adhering to the deadlines to ensure a smooth and efficient examination process.
