Lexie Carroll has shared her new EP ‘you look lovely when you’re living’ in full.
The songwriter has teased the release with some tasteful singles, melting together pop-edged melodies with indie-flavoured introspection.
Out now, her new EP is something to behold, with ‘you look lovely when you’re living’ forming a message of personal evolution.
Crafted alongside producer Jack Hardman, focus track ‘we never made it to Glasgow’ is rooted in a real-life failed expedition North of the Border.
Chosen to open for James Marriott on a full UK tour, illness in her team meant she dropped out of the Scottish dates – and in that sudden burst of free time, this song was born.
“Instead, I went to my good friend and collaborator Jack’s place and wrote this song! Though the line stemmed from the tour, the song is more so about being a bit stupid on an adventure with somebody.”
She admits, “I think it feels like snippets of a confusing, slightly awkward but very fun drunken memory.”
Tune in now.
