Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has issued a request for information (RFI) for operators to assist in loading and offloading petroleum products for its liquid bulk users at the Port of Mossel Bay.
In a statement on Monday, the ports authority said it would issue an RFI for the refurbishment, financing, operation, and maintenance of single-point mooring (SPM) and conventional buoy mooring (CBM) marine loading facilities for the petroleum industry, including diesel and petrol.
The port is TNPA’s smallest commercial port nationwide, handing and exporting mostly petroleum products and fish products. The port has also been used for tourism and has become a port of call for cruise vessels.
