Frank Tietie on AIT News Hour: On Violation of Journalist's Right to Freedom of Expression

AIT NEWS HOUR- OCTOBER 3, 2015
Frank Tietie, Executive Director, Citizens Advocacy for Social & Economic Rights (CASER) condemning the action of AIG Joseph Mbu who ordered the arrest and detention of an AIT Senior correspondent, Amaechi Anaekwue for describing him as “controversial”.
AIG Joseph Mbu has just been retired from the Nigeria Police while the case CASER filed against him, the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission at the FCT High Court, Abuja, for the enforcement of the fundamental human rights of a Nigerian journalist to freedom of expression and to hold opinions together with seeking compensation from Mr Mbu in favour of Mr Amaechi, is yet to be determined since it was filed in October, 2015.
A case of justice delayed; justice denied.
