Politics tamfitronics
Senator Shehu Umar Buba (APC-Bauchi South) has rejected allegations of supporting banditry, labeling them as “fabricated and malicious.”
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the accusations were made by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed (PDP) in a petition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Mohammed claimed that Senator Buba facilitated the registration of a suspected bandit, Abubakar Idris, and another individual, Zainab Aliyu Gado, for the Hajj pilgrimage through a legislative aide named Yahaya Ibrahim. However, Senator Buba denied having any aide by that name.
In a press statement issued by his Legislative Assistant, Hassan Gajin Duguri, Senator Buba accused Governor Mohammed of setting up a war against those who question his leadership style.
“The Governor’s sinister intentions cannot halt the winds of change gathering strength in Bauchi; his days of unethical actions are numbered.”
This development is the latest in the ongoing political clash between Senator Buba and Governor Mohammed.
Previously, Senator Buba was stripped of his traditional title of ‘Majidadin by the Bauchi Emirate Council, accused of disrespecting and humiliating Governor Mohammed.
