A JMPD officer was shot and killed after allegedly quarrelling with law enforcement officers outside her dwelling in Dobsonville.

A Johannesburg Metro Police Division (JMPD) officer was shot and killed all the scheme in which through a shootout with individuals of the South African Police Service (SAPS) outside her Dobsonville dwelling in Gauteng on Saturday evening.
Based fully on Phaladi Shuping, the spokesperson for the Just Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), the deceased was the mom of a suspected reckless driver, who was being chased by the police after failing to tag a name to prevent.
“It is alleged that the law enforcement officers had been on patrol after they noticed a car that was riding recklessly, and so that they tried to prevent it,” said Shuping.
“The driver didn’t stop, and the police pursued, till it [the car] stopped at a obvious dwelling in Monaisa Boulevard in Dobsonville.”
The law enforcement officers approached the motive force and requested why he had refused to prevent.
The driver was told that he was below arrest for negligent and reckless riding.
The deceased then allegedly came out of her dwelling and argued with the law enforcement officers.
“She allegedly told them that she was going to salvage her gun… went into the dwelling, and started shooting at the law enforcement officers,” he said.
Shuping said the woman was killed when the police returned fire.
IPID is probing the incident.
