Could The Simpsons please start sharing some lottery numbers?

The long-running animated television series is once again being hailed as a modern day Nostradamus.

In an episode titled Bart To The Future, which was released in 2000, Lisa Simpson is shown growing up to become the first female president of the United States.

She is dressed in an outfit strikingly similar to the one the US’ first female Vice-President Kamala Harris wore to the 2021 presidential inauguration, including her accessories.

Al Jean, one of the best known among The Simpsons writers, commented about the similarity on social media.

“@TheSimpsons ‘prediction’ I’m proud to be a part of,” he wrote on X.

But this was not the first time an episode of The Simpsons has served as a coincidental fortune-teller.

Here are a few other examples of the show’s accurate squints into the future:

Politics tamfitronics President Trump

Lisa Simpson became president in that episode after a “President Trump”, 16 years before Donald Trump was actually elected to the US presidency. However, reports the animated series foresaw an image of Trump on an escalator and predicted the electoral map from his win turned out to be false.

Politics tamfitronics Lady Gaga playing the Super Bowl

The singer appeared as a guest on The Simpsons in 2012. An animated Gaga is shown playing a concert in which she flies through the air – much like she did during her half-time performance at the Super Bowl, the annual US football league championship game, in 2017.

Politics tamfitronics Smartwatches

Well before you could strap that Apple smartwatch on your wrist, The Simpsons had something similar in a 1995 episode.

Politics tamfitronics Siegfried and Roy tiger attack

Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn, the famous Las Vegas performers who worked with big game cats, were parodied by the show in 1993.

In the episode, a white tiger attacks the characters “Gunter and Ernst” during their act, as revenge for having been snatched away from his life in the wild.

In real life, Horn suffered a career-ending injury in 2003 after a tiger attacked him during a show.

Politics tamfitronics Cypress Hill

The hip-hop group Cypress Hill discussed collaborating with the London Symphony Orchestra in a 1996 episode of The Simpsons titled Homerpalooza.

Nearly three decades later, the two ensembles recently did just that in a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. CNN

‘The Demons Are In Allowances And Not Salaries’ – Atiku Knocks Reps Over 50% Salaries Slash

Top Stories Tamfitronics

Top Stories Tamfitronics The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakarhas slammed the members of the House of Representatives over the decision to slash their salaries by 50 percent for six months.

Naija News reported that the latest development followed the adoption on Thursday of an amendment to a motions prayer moved by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, on the need for lawmakers to sacrifice 50% of their N600,000 monthly salaries to support Nigerians.

He said the salary cut is to be used to support the federal governments efforts to address the rising cost of foodstuffs in the country to alleviate the hardship Nigerians are going through.

The motion was adopted and referred to the committees on Humanitarian Affairs, Finance and Budget for compliance.

With each member paying N300,000 into a common purse, the legislative chamber will contribute N108 million monthly to the Federal Government and N648 million for six months.

However, in a post on X, Atiku condemned the move, asking the lawmakers to slash their allowances instead of their salaries.

According to Atiku, the country can no longer afford to borrow to fund irresponsibility in government.

He wrote, “The demons are in allowances and not salaries. There’s too much wastage and prioritisation of non-essential expenditures. What we want is an across the board cut in expenses pork. We can no longer afford to borrow to fund irresponsibility in government.”

Top Stories Tamfitronics

The Heart of Rock and Rolla musical featuring a score by Huey Lewis, will abruptly end its run this Sunday.

The musical includes pre-existing songs from Huey Lewis and the News but tells an original story about a factory worker having to choose between succeeding at his job at a cardboard box factory and his dream of making it big as a rock star. The show did not take off with critics and was not nominated for any Tony Awards.

In turn, the musical, which opened April 22 at the James Earl Jones Theatre, has seen a number of weeks of low grosses. The production played to 56 percent capacity in the week ended June 9 and grossed $272,050, well below a typical musical’s running costs.

By the time of its closing, after the June 23 matinee, the show will have played 24 previews and 72 performances.

The production was lead produced by Tyler Mitchell, Hunter Arnold and Kayla Greenspan, with Lewis also acting as a co-producer.

“It was pure joy working on the show with the team of creatives headed by writer Jonathan A. Abrams, director Gordon Greenberg, choreographer Lorin Latarro, music arranger and orchestrator Brian Usifer and special gratitude to the support and participation of the iconic music legend Huey Lewis,” Arnold said in a statement. “We were honored to have an amazing cast and crew who brought their immense enthusiasm, commitment and talent to each and every performance. With our original cast album just released and talks underway for a national tour and international productions, the musical will continue to delight audiences for years to come.”

The cast of The Heart of Rock and Roll includes Corey Cott, McKenzie Kurtz, Tamika Lawrence, Josh Breckenridge, F. Michael Haynie, John Dossett, Zoe Jensen, Raymond J. Lee, John-Michael Lyles, Orville Mendoza and Billy Harrigan Tighe.
