Foursoldiers who died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning are being buried withmilitary honours.

The SouthAfrican National Defence Force (SANDF) has identified the soldiers as LanceCorporal LS Mbongwa, Private MS Manganyi, Private LRT Mpolokeng, and Private MPNzukela.

Manganyi,Mpolokeng and Nzukela were being buried on Saturday. The funeral of Manganyiwill be held in Limpopo, while Mpolokeng will be buried in the Northern Cape,and Nzukela in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mbongwa wasburied with military honours in Pietermaritzburg last week.

News24previously reported that the four soldiers died due to suspected carbonmonoxide poisoning after they allegedly made a fire to keep warm during afreezing night in Orkney, North West.

The foursoldiers had been deployed on a 24-hour shift at Shaft 3, a dormant miningshaft in Orkney, near the disused Harry Oppenheimer Stadium, which has been ahotspot for illegal mining.

Accordingto SANDF spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini, the soldiers were found inside acontainer structure, which was used as a guard house. They were discoveredduring a change of shift.

Police werecalled to the scene and found all four dead, with their rifles and personalitems on them.

SANDF topbrass sent condolences to the families of the deceased and the entire defencefamily.
