Government brings back food trucks in bid to revive tourism

Eating on the streets used to be part of the culture in Hong Kong, until safety and hygiene concerns meant the end for most hawkers and their mobile kitchens.

But in recent months, the government has tried to revive the idea, although not everyone is pleased about it.

Al Jazeera’s Divya Gopalan reports from Hong Kong.

Inside Story – Europe’s refugee challenge

Should all countries in the European Union share the burden of the refugee crisis? That’s the crux of the case facing judges at the leading court in the European Union.

The European Court of Justice is hearing lawsuits filed by Hungary and Slovakia.

Both countries are challenging the European Union’s mandatory quota to accept asylum seekers they don’t want.

The recommendation to the judges is to dismiss the challenge – they’re due to make a final ruling later this year.

But how many refugees fleeing war and persecution have these countries really accepted to provoke such a challenge?

Some are refusing to accept even one asylum seeker.

Why are they opposing the EU programme to resettle refugees across the continent?

And is their refusal making the migrant crisis worse?

Presenter: Richelle Carey.

Guests:

Catherine Woollard – European Council for Refugees and Exiles.

Wojciech Przybylski – Visegrad Insight.

Alice Jackson – Refugee camp volunteer.
