This week, Big Zulu sat down with David Mashabela on the King David Studiopodcast to discuss his career and outlook on relationships.
According to the A lot of money hitmaker, he prefers traditional relationship roles and wants to be the “provider” in his household.
The 38-year-old also touched on how modern women, in his opinion, have lost their homemaking skills.

As humans evolved, so have their dating styles, relationship dynamics and perceptions of traditional gender roles.

These days, it isn’t uncommon to witness a household where the man is the stay-at-home parent while the woman works and provides for the family financially.

Because of this shift, many working-class women have also stopped putting as much effort as their mothers into homemaking and expect their partners to put in equal work regarding cooking, cleaning and childrearing. This dynamic, shared by local rapper Big Zulu, does not interest or impress him.

The rapper—real name Siyabonga Nene—recently sat down with David Mashabela on the King David Studio podcastto discuss his career and personal life.

According to Big Zulu, he prefers “traditional” relationships and wants a woman who is okay with being provided for. He also added how he does not believe in equality between men and women and wants to be the head of his household.

This is something he also wants to instil in his children.

He said:

I want to be a man to my family and to my wife. I don’t recognise that ’50/50′, and I don’t want my kids to grow up knowing that.

The father of two also expressed disdain for “city women” who don’t cook and rely on modern conveniences like house helpers and food delivery services.

“They only know how to order food online,” he said. According to him, these kinds of women don’t prioritise marriage or the responsibilities that come with it and instead opt for casual relationships—another no-no for him.

The rapper also touched on how a woman’s beauty means nothing if she mistreats her partner.

“Beauty may attract a man, but it is the treatment and behaviour of a woman that ultimately determines her suitability as a wife,” he said.

US Vice President Kamala Harris will headline a fundraiser in Massachusetts on Saturday as President Joe Biden faces continued pressure from fellow Democrats and big money donors to end his floundering campaign.

Biden and top aides on Friday vowed to continue with the campaign, even as major donors signaled they were unwilling to open their checkbooks unless the 81-year-old president stepped aside.

The crisis-in-confidence in Biden’s ability to win has placed a huge spotlight on Harris, widely believed to be the most likely replacement if he steps down.

Her fundraising events, including the one on Saturday in Provincetown, Massachusetts are getting added interest from donors who want to signal they are willing to coalesce around her potential bid for the White House, according to three Democratic fundraisers.

More than one in 10 congressional Democrats have now publicly called on Biden, who is isolating at his Delaware home with a case of Covid-19, to drop out following a disastrous debate last month against Republican former president Donald Trump that raised questions about the incumbent’s ability to win the 5 November election or carry out his duties for another four years.

Biden’s campaign hoped to raise some $50 million in big-dollar donations in July for the Biden Victory Fund but was on track for less than half that figure as of Friday, according to two sources familiar with the fundraising efforts.

The campaign called reports of a July fundraising slump overstated, noting that it anticipated a drop-off in large donations due to vacations. It said the campaign still has 10 fundraisers on the schedule this month.

Harris assured major Democratic donors on Friday that the party would prevail in the presidential election as more lawmakers called for her running mate, Biden, to stand down.

“We are going to win this election,” she said on a call arranged on short notice to calm donors, according to a person on the call.

“We know which candidate in this election puts the American people first: Our president, Joe Biden.”

Harris attended the call “at the direct request of senior advisers to the president,” one of the people said, an account confirmed by another person familiar with the matter.

Then,reacting to a study which found such abuse often occurs after football matches,the 78-year-old leader joked that “If the guy is a Corinthians fan, it’sOK”, in reference to his favourite team.

Thecomments, broadcast live on Tuesday, triggered widespread condemnation.

“Besidesnot being funny, Lula’s comment normalises a Brazilian tragedy that shouldworry everyone, especially the president: at least 10 600 women have beenvictims of femicide since 2015,” Amnesty International wrote on X.

TheNGO referred to the report that found physical aggression against womenincreases by 21% on game days, saying: “It’s not OK.”

Far-rightex-president Jair Bolsonaro, himself often criticised for misogynism, also tookto social media to berate the “nonsense” uttered by Lula.

Therewere also reprimands from within the president’s leftist ranks, withcongresswoman Fernanda Melchionna posting on X that: “Domestic violence isno joke.”

WASHINGTON– US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said in a post on TruthSocial that he had a “very good call” on Friday with UkrainianPresident Volodymyr Zelensky and pledged to end the war pitting Kyiv againstMoscow through negotiations.

Zelenskyalso reported his conversation with Trump and expressed thanks for US militaryassistance. But he made no reference in a post on social media platform X onefforts to end the 28-month-old conflict.

Trumphas said he will end the war in Ukraine before he even takes office in January,should he win the 5 November election. He has also said that had he been inoffice when the Kremlin sent troops into Ukraine in February 2022, the warwould not have taken place.

Inhis Truth Social post, Trump said that as president he “will bring peaceto the world and end the war that has cost so many lives”.

“Bothsides will be able to come together and negotiate a deal that ends the violenceand paves a path forward to prosperity,” Trump said.

ThoughTrump has put forward few tangible policy proposals, he told Reuters in aninterview last year that Ukraine might have to cede some territory to reach apeace agreement.

Inhis post, Zelensky said he congratulated Trump on becoming the Republicannominee and condemned the assassination attempt on him last week.

‘Resist Russian terror’

“Iwished him strength and absolute safety in the future,” Zelensky said.

“Inoted the vital bipartisan and bicameral American support for protecting ournation’s freedom and independence.”

Ukraine,he said, “will always be grateful to the United States for its help instrengthening our ability to resist Russian terror. Russian attacks on ourcities and villages continue every day.”

Zelenskyrejects any negotiations with Russia on ending the conflict, as long as Russiantroops remain in Ukraine.

TheUkrainian president has proposed a peace plan, showcased again at a “worldsummit” last month to which Russia was not invited, that calls for thewithdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of Ukraine’s 1991 post-Sovietborders.

Russiantroops occupy about 20% of Ukrainian territory. Moscow’s forces have madeincremental gains in the east of the country along the 1 000km front sincecapturing the key city of Avdiivka in February.
