Music producer, Solomon Oyeniyi professionally called K-Solo, has denied claims that he blamed mothers for fuelling Internet fraud and prostitution among their children.
It was reported earlier that the sound enginner had opined in an interview with Arise TV, that for hookup and yahoo yahoo to end, mothers have a key role to play.
K-Solo said in part; “Hookup in Nigeria is now like ordering food. It’s almost normal. They even defend it by saying it happens abroad. But I think there should be rules guiding it.
“The day mothers and female advocates start speaking against these vices more, there will be a lot of changes. The day female celebrities who flaunt their luxurious lifestyles on the internet come out and let girls know how they hustle on the fields, a lot of young girls will go back to the drawing board.”
Refuting the claims that he blamed mothers for their daughter social vices, the entertainer said he rather spoke on the influence and responsibility that women, particularly mothers, have in shaping the lives of their children and society in general.
He said; “I did not blame prostitution on mothers. Many Nigerians often react to headlines without reading the full story. That’s part of the problem we’re facing.
“I feel like mothers have a major role to play. They have a powerful influence on their children. If they say something won’t happen, it won’t.
“Look at Adam in the Bible. Despite God giving him direct instructions, it didn’t take long for Eve to convince him to do otherwise. God has given women distinct powers, and when they harness this energy, Nigeria and the world will be a better place.
“A lot of mothers know when their children are lying but remain silent because of the benefits they receive. When their children go out and return with things, most times the mothers are the first takers.”
