A documentary about U.K. rapper Skeptadirected by BAFTA nominee Hector Dockrill (“Post Malone: Runaway”), is in the works.
The project is the first from a new creative alliance between Skepta’s production company, 1PLUS1 Production, and the L.A.-based hospitality and lifestyle marketing company the H.Wood group. The untitled film promises to be a “stirring documentary about the artist focusing on themes of cultural identity and artistry,” according to a release. Producing the doc are John Terzian, Brian Toll and Jeremy Allen for H.Wood Media and Dwight Okechukwu for 1PLUS1 Production. The film is eyeing a 2025 release.

Skepta, a recipient of the prestigious Mercury Prize, made his first foray into the film world earlier this year with his short “Tribal Mark.” In an interview with Varietythe rapper said he would love to make a feature-length film one day: “Even if you listen to my albums, I always have skits, so I feel like I’ve always had doing a movie in my mind somewhere.”
