The 6 Best Cooling Sheets, Tested By Lifestyle Editors
Lifestyle
Pros
- Luxurious nylon feels ultra-soft and cool to the touch
- Extremely durable construction, even after repeated machine washings
- Surprisingly breathable (especially for nylon!)
- Stretchy design and sewn-in bands make for a snug, stay-put fit
- Highly wrinkle- and pill-resistant
Cons
- Most expensive set in our roundup
- Limited color and size selection
You don’t have to spend a fortune to land a good pair or cooling sheets, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Case in point: Bedgear’s premium (and premium priced) Ver-Tex Sheet Set. It’s the most expensive set we’re recommending in this year’s roundup. But splurging here gets you high-end, performance-minded bedding that’s so worth it, especially for hot sleepers.
After personally testing dozens of cooling sheet sets over the last year, this is the set that my girlfriend and I keep coming back to. Nylon isn’t a fabric most of us think of as great for keeping cool. Yet, the 100% nylon in this set feels downright luxurious—it’s sheer, soft, and cool to the touch, even on the hottest days. It’s also surprisingly airy and breathable on very humid days (think “Miami in July” humid).
Our entire team loved the super-stretchy design of this set, too. For bed-making purposes, that makes for an ultra-snug fit that easily stretches over any mattress size or depth. Thick, sewn-in elastic Powerbands—in both the sheets and pillowcases—at the corners add even more security. No matter what you most often use your mattress for, you won’t be left remaking the bed and retucking the sheets before settling in every night.
This set is only available in Queen and several King sizes, so Twin and Full mattress owners are out of luck. The color selection is equally limited, with just four available colors. It’s also the most expensive set in this year’s roundup, and we’re disappointed that Bedgear offers a 100-day return policy, but only for unopened products. So, there’s no true in-home sleep trial. Still, for hot sleepers, we think Ver-Tex is easily the best cooling sheet set of 2024, and you probably won’t want to return them anyway.

Pros
- Great price with free shipping and returns
- Soft, ultra-cool Tencel Lyocell construction feels good next to skin
- Unique textured grid weave is highly breathable
- Crisp, lightweight look and feel
Cons
- Thinnest and lowest thread count of the cooling sheets we tested
- Strict return policy with no in-home sleep trial
Just like Casper’s keep-cool mattressesits cooling sheets are the real deal, too. The Hyperlite Sheet Set is billed as the company’s “coolest sheets yet.” We have to agree, and that’s due in large part to their Tencel Lyocell construction and ultra-breathable grid weave. The best part about these, though? The price.
The self-described “hottest sleepers” on our test panel appreciated the featherweight construction. “I sleep crazy hot and love my linen sheets, but these feel like they’re half the weight!” said one of our staff writers. We unanimously agreed that the 100% Tencel Lyocell construction was not only lightweight but extremely soft and smooth, too.
On the downside, this set is noticeably thinner and features the lowest thread count of any we tested this year. At just 200, it’s lower than Young recommends. But, for especially hot sleepers, trading some thickness and softness for more breathability is worth it. Our only other gripe is the lack of available colors—just five muted, neutral options. Still, the price can’t be beat. It’s premium bedding without the premium price tag.

Best Temperature-Regulating Sheets
Lifestyle My Sheets Rock The Regulator Sheet Set
Pros
- Great for hot and cold sleepers in any season
- Smooth, silky feeling against the skin
- Minimizes stink and bacteria
- Just-right midweight construction
- 90-day satisfaction-guaranteed return policy
Cons
- A little too slippery
- Prone to bunching
This core set from My Sheets Rock checks all of our must-have feature boxes for the best cooling sheets. It’s lightweight, buttery smooth, and moisture-wicking. But what further sets this set apart is the excellent temperature regulation, making it a great option for year-round use in both hot and cold weather. It’s purpose-built to keep your sleep temp even throughout the night in any season.
We found the smooth, silky skin feel of The Regulator set to be the closest to sateen of any cooling sheets for hot sleepers we tested this year. The bamboo rayon construction is extremely durable with a just-right midweight that worked for us on hot summer nights in July and cooler fall-ish nights, too. We like the roughly ten available colors, too—simple, solid, and versatile enough to work with almost any bedroom decor.
Our team had two minor gripes with this set. The first is that the ultra-smooth, silky construction makes them more slippery than most. Whether that texture is good or bad is purely subjective, but we found they don’t “stay put” very well. This can lead to bunching up at the foot of the bed, especially if you’re prone to tossing and turning during the night.
Still, the affordable price, cozy next-to-skin feel, and best-in-class temperature-regulating design make this a winner in our book. Plus, My Sheets Rock offers a generous 90-day sleep trial. The brand promises “satisfaction guaranteed,” so you can return the set for any reason, even after sleeping on it for three months.

Pros
- Regulates temperature well in every season
- Luxurious sateen feels great against the skin
- Durable, synthetic/natural blended construction
- Retains shape well night after night
- Sewn-in tags for easy bed-making
Cons
- Only available in Queen and King sizes
Sleep Number’s aptly named True Temp Sheet Set relies on a unique blend of natural and synthetic fibers that make it a top all-around performer in this year’s roundup. The majority cotton construction makes for a soft, durable, pill-resistant set, while next-gen 37.5 Technology fibers add serious temperature-regulating capability.
In our tests, we found Sleep Number’s True Temp Sheets outperformed almost every other cooling sheet set this year. We’ve tested bedding and other products with built-in 37.5 Technology before, and it’s the real deal. This is the same fabric tech found in many high-end active and athleisure apparel that’s purpose-built to wick moisture and regulate body temperature. It traps and dissipates heat better than synthetic materials alone, and we also love how it keeps us dry, too. As part of our sleep test, on some of the hottest summer nights this year, we were able to sleep without AC and still remain reasonably comfortable and dry. By adding a cooling mattress and pillow, we found a nearly perfect “keep-cool” bedding combo.
Our team loves the SmartFit design, which includes an elasticized edge, stretchy corner seams, and angled anchor bands that help keep the fitted sheet in place, no matter how “active” your nighttime routine may be. Sleep Number also adds sewn-in labels to the bottom right corner, taking the guesswork out of positioning the fitted sheet when it’s time to make the bed.
Unfortunately, these premium cooling sheets are only available in Queen sizes and larger, so Twin and Full mattress owners are out of luck. Still, we’re hard-pressed to find much of anything to complain about with this set. If you run seriously hot at night and want the most technical, performance-minded cooling sheets on the market, we think these are worth the splurge.

Lifestyle Brooklinen Classic Percale Core Sheet Set
Now 15% Off
Pros
- All-natural, 100% long-staple cotton is cool and crisp
- Smooth, luxurious “hotel” feel
- Sewn-in tags guarantee easy bed-making
- Available in more than a dozen essential colors
Cons
- Limited seasonal colors sell out fast
For an all-natural option, we love Brooklinen’s Classic Core Sheet Set. The 100% long-staple cotton construction is crisp and cool with a soft, luxurious “hotel-esque” feel. The 270-thread-count design is less than many premium alternatives, but it does guarantee a breezier and more breathable feel that’s perfect for hot sleepers.
These cooling sheets were a hit with our entire test panel. One editor noted, “They feel super-sleek and luxurious like high-end hotel sheets.” That’s thanks to the long-staple cotton and percale weave. Plus, we dig that they’re OEKO-TEX certified for chemical safety, meaning no unnecessary or harmful flame retardants or other nastiness is used in the manufacturing process.
One nice touch: Like some of our other favorite cooling sheets, these are tagged with “long” and “short” side labels, which is a huge help when it comes time to make the bed. We also like that they’re available in roughly a dozen “essential” (mostly neutral) colors and a few limited seasonal colors, as well, although the latter typically sell out fast.
That minor quibble aside, if you tend to sleep hot, these hotel-grade sheets are all but guaranteed to help you sleep better. Bonus: They’re surprisingly well-priced, too, compared to most other premium alternatives we tested (especially considering they’re Brooklinen-branded).

Lifestyle Sheex Original Performance Sheet Set
Now 25% Off
Pros
- Moisture-wicking material breathes better than cotton
- Thermo-regulating fabric works great year-round
- Stretch material for easier bed-making
- Durable and wrinkle-resistant
- Decent color selection
Cons
- Pricey compared to other options we tested
The blend of polyester and spandex makes this a top performer fo r breathability, softness, and moisture-wicking, especially compared to all-natural alternatives made from cotton or linen. This set also gets softer with every successive machine wash and is durable enough to resist pilling, wrinkling, and fading.
Our panelists were surprised at how premium the fabric of this sheet set feels. It’s clear that these are a cut above most of the cooling sheets we tested, and that alone justified the higher-than-average price tag. We found the proprietary synthetic blend fabric to cool better than almost every other natural sheet set we tested. The performance polyester kept our hottest panelists cool, calm, and collected throughout the night, while the dash of spandex in the construction allowed them to give a little as we tossed and turned. We also found that added stretch made bed-making much, much easier.
The roughly eight available colors are basic but tasteful and should work with virtually any bedroom decor. On the downside, these are among the most expensive cooling sheets we tested this year. Still, given the premium construction, glowing reviews, and performance cooling capabilities, we think they’re worth it, especially if you tend to sleep very, very hot.
