Patna: Nitish government minister Ashok Chaudhary targeted Bhumihars in Jehanabad. But little did he know that his statement would land him in deep trouble in his own party. Especially when a leader of this community, i.e. Mokama’s strongman former MLA Anant Singh, recently met CM Nitish Kumar. Ashok Chaudhary had blamed Bhumihars for the defeat of JDU candidate in the Lok Sabha elections. Ashok Chaudhary had openly warned Bhumihars that if they don’t support JDU, then their community will not get assembly ticket. But now JDU’s powerful MLC and a leader from this community has shown him the mirror.
Ashok Chaudhary got surrounded in his own party for speaking on Bhumihars
There is tremendous anger against Ashok Chaudhary within JDU. In this episode, the party’s chief spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar has condemned Ashok Chaudhary’s statement. He said that Ashok Chaudhary’s statement is against the party line. Neeraj Kumar said that tickets in JDU are not given on the basis of caste but on the basis of merit. Neeraj did not stop here. While talking to a local news portal, he gave a piece of his mind to Ashok Chaudhary.
JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar narrated it well
In fact, Ashok Chaudhary had criticized the Bhumihars of Jehanabad after the defeat of JDU candidate Chandreshwar Chandravanshi. Due to this, he got completely and badly trapped in his own party. JDU’s chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar condemned Ashok Chaudhary’s statement and said that Ashok Chaudhary himself was in charge of Katihar seat in the Lok Sabha elections and JDU lost from there as well. Neeraj Kumar even said that Ashok Chaudhary has no role in the formation of JDU. He said that it is wrong to give statements against the party and Nitish Kumar.
What did Ashok Chaudhary say?
Ashok Chaudhary had said in a program in Jehanabad on 29 August, ‘Some people do caste politics. Did Nitish Kumar do such a thing that where there is a Bhumihar village, there will be no road? But when you make an extremely backward person a candidate, the Bhumihar people run away to Delhi-Calcutta. They say we will not vote. They run away to Delhi-Bombay at the time of elections. If a candidate from your caste (Bhumihar) is standing, then you will say it is good. If my candidate (extremely backward) does not go to your door for three-four days, then you will say it is bad.’ Apart from this, Ashok Chaudhary even said that the party will not give tickets to such people in the assembly elections. During this time, Ashok Chaudhary said that he knows the Bhumihars very well because he has married his daughter to a Bhumihar.
There is a lot of anger against Ashok Chaudhary in the Bhumihar society
Subhash Sharma, a farmer (local resident) of Mauri village in Paliganj, said that why does Ashok Chaudhary forget that he had left Congress and joined JDU. If he talks about Bhumihars, then the people of this society have given as much to the people wholeheartedly as they have not taken from the government. Be it educational institutions or martyrs or poets. Ashok Chaudhary has exposed his mentality by saying such a thing. Does he want to push Bihar back to the 90s again? Today, when there is social harmony in Bihar, is he hell-bent on destroying it?
