Jessica Leigh Weiss Celebrated for Expertise in Technology and Development Strategy

KAILUA KONA, HI, June 26, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Jessica Leigh Weiss has been recognized for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. Ms. Weiss has established a niche for herself as a diversity, equity, inclusion, talent strategy leader and organizational development leader at Google for Google Cloud. Beginning her tenure in 2021, she has rapidly become an integral part of Google Cloud security’s leadership team. Her role encompasses leading a team of over 80 Google community contributors on DEI programming, and designing and implementing organizational development programs for a global workforce of ~5000 employees worldwide. She’s an executive and career coach, known for launching and scaling projects with a proven track record of increasing representation, inclusion, morale and equitable career development across the organization. Additionally, she designs and facilitates talent development programs for underrepresented and top talent employees to enable equitable growth and build a representative leadership pipeline.

Before being promoted to her current role, Ms. Weiss filled several pivotal roles at Google. This included a senior HR program manager, a Learning and Development Business Partner, and Executive Leadership Development Strategist throughout her 13+ years of tenure at Google.

Ms. Weiss also co-founded Trix Media, serving as its publisher from 2018 to 2022. Trix Media was a groundbreaking women’s media platform committed to advancing women’s equality through research-backed storytelling. In just 2 years, her team built a global community of 40,000+ readers in 70+ countries, featuring the work of diverse journalists and artists who amplify underrepresented voices and perspectives. Serving as the publisher and co-founder, Ms. Weiss leveraged her career expertise in social-organizational psychology and research-backed tools to challenge biases and elevate diverse perspectives in media. Ms. Weiss and Trix Media were awarded the Jane Walker / IFundWomen First Women Grant Program and selected by icon Billie Jean King in recognition of groundbreaking women entrepreneurs in the media industry.

Before joining Google, Ms. Weiss was an instructor and program manager for Future Problem Solving Program International at The Nueva School and an instructor and curriculum consultant at College Track. Her career began as a development and partnership associate at Start Up Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in East Palo Alto, California, in 2006.

Ms. Weiss’s academic background includes earning a Master of Arts in organizational psychology from Columbia University, earned in 2015, and a Master of Arts in European history from Stanford University, earned in 2005. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and affairs from Stanford University, completed in the same year.

Ms. Weiss is most proud of implementing programs that directly increased representation and performance management equity in Google’s 50,000+ Cloud Platform organization, leveraging data-driven insights and a deep understanding of social organizational dynamics to design and implement talent and culture change management solutions. She attributes her overall success in the industry to the influence of exceptional female managers and her mother, who spent many years as a teacher and coach.

She is also an active member of various other civic-minded organizations, such as the Continued Learning Committee within the Teacher’s College XMA Alumni Network and the Hawaii Community Foundation.

In her free time, Ms. Weiss enjoys running triathlons, traveling and spending quality time with her nieces. Looking ahead, she aims to establish herself as an advocate for marginalized and underrepresented communities, intending to cultivate conscious leaders capable of steering organizations toward inclusivity. She is also contemplating publishing a book to further share her insights and experiences on the psychology of post-colonial societies who are rethinking and reclaiming the history and agency of marginalized communities.
