Zamfara To Clear Backlog Of Schools Fees Of Indigene Students In Cyprus

Zamfara State has assigned a 3-man delegation under the leadership of the state Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Malam Wadatau Madawaki to visit Cyprus with a view to settle backlog owing to schools for the indigenous students across the country.

Accordingly, Mal. Wadatau Madawaki and his team is to visit the state indigent students who are studying in various fields of disciplines in Cyprus.

Briefing journalists on the development in her office, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Dr Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri, said about 88 indigent students are studying in Cyprus on state scholarship list.

Dr Barira opined that, the visit of the state delegation is to look into the financial disposition of the students, their health, academic performances, general wellbeing of the students in a foreign country and to also settle the financial backlog owing the schools by the past administration which she said caused a lot of difficulties to the students before the inception of the present administration.

She further informed that, the students academic performance as well as their condition of health remained the great concern of the state government for being the bedrock of what had earlier informed the idea of sponsoring the indigenous students to study abroad.

The Permanent Secretary, aside expressing her gratitude to the current administration of Governor Dauda Lawal whom she said has being the force behind any successes so far recorded in the education sector giving his supports at all times.

She called on the good people of the state and parents whose children are in Cyprus to pray for better achievements of the current administration in line with its policy direction.
