JOHANNESBURG – Calls are continuing for Johannesburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda to stand down.
But, the Al Jamah-Ah member is holding on tight to his position.
There have been back-to-back meetings since the weekend.
The ANC in Joburg met on Monday night to discuss the issue.
But, Gwamanda’s party Al Jama-Ah is adamant he is going nowhere.
Political parties and civil society want him to step down for not doing enough to address service delivery.
Gwamanda was elected in May last year after his fellow party member Thapelo Amad’s resignation.
