Trump was shot on Saturday night during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump confirmed on Truth Social:
“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening.”
One supporter in the audience was also killed while two others sustained critical injuries.
I just landed and missed an assignation attempt. Holy shit. What a bad ass reaction from Trump. The election is over. He’s the next president. The Dems should give up. They can’t beat him now. pic.twitter.com/omtbue191d

After the gunshots at Trump went off, secret service details swarmed the stage and surrounded the former president. Moments later, they escorted him to his car. In a show of defiance, Trump, who now had blood on his face, lifted his fist, and the crowd roared.
The Republican candidate is now safe and has since left hospital.
An eyewitness who spoke to the BBC in the aftermath of the shooting revealed that he saw the gunman scaling up a building to go to the rooftop from which he fired the shots. They even tried to warm the police:
“We noticed the guy crawling, bear crawling, up the roof of the building beside us, 50 feet [about 9 metres] away from us. We’re standing there, we’re pointing at the guy crawling up the roof…We can clearly see him with a rifle. I notified police and the officers didn’t know what was going on.
“I’m thinking to myself, ‘Why is Trump still speaking? Why have they not pulled him off the stage?’ I’m standing there pointing at him for two, three minutes, Secret Service is looking at us from the top of the barn, I’m pointing at that roof, just standing there like this, and next thing you know, five shots ring out.”
