ZRP Speaks On Fire At Deputy Finance Minister David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa’s Home
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed a fire at Deputy Finance Minister David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa’s Borrowdale home on Friday night.
In a statement on Saturday afternoon, ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi also unveiled when the fire first broke out.

Without delving into specific details, Assistant Commissioner Nyathi revealed that the fire first broke out on Friday at 11:30 PM. He stated that the police are currently investigating the incident.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that investigations are currently underway in connection with a fire incident which occurred at the house of the Deputy Minister for Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, Honourable Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa on 28th June 2024 at 2330 hours,” Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said in a short statement.
Efforts by it is Harare to confirm reports of the fire reigniting on Saturday were unsuccessful. It remains unclear if anyone was injured in the fire or the extent of the property damage.

In a separate incident, an unknown number of people were scammed out of their hard-earned money by an individual pretending to be President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son Sean and conning people in shady fuel deals. The scheme was brought to light by Information Secretary Nick Mangwana on Saturday.
Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Mangwana warned the Zimbabwean public not to fall for the con.
