According to reports, TerBlanche was found dead in her Los Angeles home on Friday by police after she couldn’t be reached for several days.
The TV star, known for her role as Bienkie Naude in the local show Egoli: Place of Goldleaves a legacy of remarkable talent and dedication to her craft.
“We are saddened to hear about the passing of Esta TerBlanche, one of Goal’s most talented actresses. She brought to life the iconic character of Bienkie Naude, captivating audiences with her incredible talent and charisma. Her presence on screen will be deeply missed.
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to her loved ones, colleagues, and fans during this difficult time. Esta’s legacy will live on through her remarkable body of work, inspiring future generations of actors and actresses,” the In goal team wrote on Facebook.
In addition to her role on Egoli, TerBlanche’s acting career spanned various popular TV shows, including All My Childrenwhere she played the troublemaking princess Gillian Andrassy.
Her roles in Germination and Three Thieves and a Wedding further showcased her acting skills.
Beyond her television career, The 51-year-old, born in Rustenburg, North West, was also known for her beauty and grace, having been crowned Miss Teen South Africa in 1991.
TerBlanche moved to the United States in the 1990s to further her acting career. About three years after her relocation, she secured the role in All My Childrenstrengthening her status as a talented and respected actor.
At the time of her death, the actor stayed in the US, where she spent most of her adult life.
