  1. Secret of Mana (SNES) has been my favorite game of all time since I first played it in 1993. Before Chris wastes money on the PS4 remake, I would encourage him to watch the review at the link below. It captures all of the shortfalls and the corners that Square cut in the hopes of releasing a quick cash grab.

QOTW – Before playing the demo a few weeks ago, I would have said Bravely Default II hands down. Despite positives such as the soundtrack and the heightened difficulty, I think my overall excitement for the game was somewhat diminished. As of now I will go with Trials of Mana and Xenoblade Definitive as a close second.

  2. I don’t really know what’s left for original games this year because of circumstances (and doesn’t own anything capable of playing Cyberpunk) so I guess it falls to a tie between Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive and Trails III on Switch.

  3. QOTW: As one of the weird ones not actually excited for Cyberpunk 2077, this was a little easier for me. Xenoblade Definitive, Trials of Mana Remake, and Bravely Default 2… all excited for (yes, played the BD2 demo and now excited where I was previously luke warm to it. Elvis is my spirit animal). But the one most anticipated game I’m looking forward to is Tales of Arise (allegedly coming out in 2020, so says the vague release date). Tales of Zestiria made me lose faith in Tales games, but Berseria brought it right back and heightened it and I can’t wait for more Tales.

  4. I would like to confirm that Undertale is designed so that players of any skill level can get through it and enjoy it. If the player falls in battle then it’s always VERY quick and easy to get back in the action without any loss of progress. I was personally terrible at Undertale’s combat but loved the game anyway, and beating it didn’t take long.

Thanks for the heads up on Piczle Cross Adventure. I enjoy nonogram puzzles, so this one is a must-play.

QoTW: I’m getting a strong sense of deja vu, because my answer is the same as a previous QoTW – World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, against my better judgment.

I did not like WoW: Battle for Azeroth, so much that I have actually stopped playing WoW for months. I’m still not sure I want to go back, but at least I have credit on Blizzard’s digital store (obtained through Blizzard’s token system and WoW’s in-game gold) so that WoW: Shadowlands will be effectively “free”.

  5. Bravely Default 2 barely edges out my excitement for Cold Steel 3 mainly due to the fact I’m actually caught up on that series! The Bravely games & Octopath have been my favorite new twist on turn-based combat in the past decade, and that demo was pretty amazing proof of concept for what’s to come.

*Old QOTW update: I did manage to beat both Trails in the Sky SC & Toyko Mirage Sessions in April!

  6. It’s probably way too late to answer the question of the week, but here goes! I’m most looking forward to Bravely Default II! No surprise there, I suppose, heh. I’m a bit worried it won’t actually come out this year, but we’ll see.
