Sherman, who has been playing the lottery for five years, said she’s excited about her first big win.

“I was staying at a hotel, visiting a friend, when I decided to play my ticket,” she told OLG.

“I then took it to a nearby store to have it checked. When I realized I had won the top prize, I was left in disbelief. It’s been a month since then and I still can’t believe it. I’ve shared the news with close friends and family. Everyone has been so lovely and happy for me. Winning is an unreal feeling; it’s life altering! I never thought this would happen to me.”

Sherman plans to invest and pay off some bills with her lottery win.

Her winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K on Westmount Dr. S. in Orillia.

REAL ESTATE AGENT MOVIN’ ON UP

Ottawa real estate agent David Essex is $1 million richer after winning a Maxmillions prize in the Aug. 16 Lotto Max draw.

Essex, who has been an occasional lottery player with OLG for over 15 years, uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections.

“I checked my ticket on the OLG app and when the prize amount came up, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” said Essex to OLG.

Essex plans to invest his winnings for the time being.

His winning ticket was bought at an Ultramar on Merivale Rd. in Nepean.

Tupaz, who has been playing the lottery with OLG on and off for about five years, said when her mom suggested adding Encore to all of her tickets, she took the advice.

“I scanned my ticket on the OLG app,” she told OLG.

“When I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message come up, I was sure the app must be wrong. I scanned my ticket again and was so surprised. I never thought I would win big! I sent a screenshot of my prize amount to my parents and they were just as shocked. Like me, they couldn’t believe I had won.”

Tupaz plans to put her windfall toward paying off her mortgage.

Her winning ticket was purchased at an Avondale on Rockwood Ave. in St. Catharines.

WAKIN’ UP THE NEIGHBOURS AFTER LOTTO WIN

Dundas framer Paul Lowery won a $250,000 top prize with the OLG’s Instant Bingo Multiplier.

Lowery, who has been playing the lottery weekly with OLG for three years, is ecstatic about his first big win.

“I was at home when I scanned my ticket on the OLG app. I thought I had won $2,500 and was so happy,” he told OLG.

“I woke up my girlfriend and showed her my phone. She laughed and said, ‘Babe! You won $250,000, not $2,500!’ She was over the moon. I screamed with joy and had to apologize to my landlord the next morning for being so loud.”

Lowery’s first plans are getting his brother to visit from across the pond.

“The first thing I am going to do is buy my brother, who lives in England, a plane ticket so he can come here to visit,” he told OLG.

“I can’t describe this feeling. Winning is awesome and I am full of gratitude.”

His winning ticket was bought at a Metro on Governors Rd. in Dundas.

PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER ON ‘CLOUD NINE’

Personal support worker Lesa Lingenfelter of Trout Creek, Ont., took home $100,000 after winning a Triple Millions prize in the Aug. 29 main draw.

Lingenfelter, who has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 20 years, typically picks up Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 tickets weekly, but decided to try OLG’s limited-time lottery game.

“My daughter told me about the Triple Millions game, so I decided to pick one up,” Lingenfelter told OLG.

“I checked my ticket using the OLG app and screamed when I saw the prize amount. I scanned it so many times! I ran to find my husband and said, ‘I just won $100,000!’ He was thrilled for me.”

Her plans include taking a cruise with her family and finishing some home renovations.

“I’m just on cloud nine! Dreams do come true and this time, it happened to me! It’s just amazing,” she told OLG.

Her winning ticket was bought at Trout Creek General Store on Main St.
