Turtle in Outfield Briefly Halts Minor League Baseball Game in Florida

At some level of Saturday’s Single-A Florida Tell League sport between the Bradenton Marauders and the visitng St. Lucie Mets, the home group held a promotion sponsored by a neighborhood museum of science and nature.

Because it looks, one critter took that promotion somewhat too a long way.

With the Mets up 20 in the cease of the 2nd inning, play was rapid halted by a turtle scurrying round the outfield.

“We contain some form of creature on the self-discipline,” the game’s announcer said in video posted to social media by the Marauders. “A squirrel, or a rodent, I dont know. What attain we contain there? Or no longer it is a turtle.”

Bradenton left fielder Esmerlyn Valdez signaled for any individual to return catch the surprisingly fleet-appealing turtle sooner than the Marauders’ two other outfielders joined in on the poke. In the end, pitcher Magdiel Cotto saved the day, preserving the turtle aloft and carrying it into the bullpen to cheers from the crowd.
