“Fully undemocratic” – FCT natives accuse Wike of lowering dwelling councils’ revenues

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) natives procure accused the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, of lowering the income technology for dwelling councils.

Danjuma Tanko, a prominent member of the All Modern Congress (APC) and elder statesman, condemned the perceived unilateral circulation taken by the minister, stating, “The muse by the minister to lower short income technology for the Negate councils amount to abuse of democratic principles.”

Tanko said that it’s major to empower dwelling councils to effectively take care of the wants of grassroots communities, stressing that they play a severe unbiased in native governance and building initiatives.

“The developmental hump of the minister is focused on the metropolis areas, whereas the rural areas are left for the council chairman to support to,” Tanko said.

He entreated the minister to think again the decision and allocate extra funds to boost dwelling councils in their endeavours.

“This single dichotomy and autocratic decision to appoint a minister to oversee the affairs of elected officials is fully undemocratic, and therefore, the folk of Abuja want a total democratic building, where any Nigerian can contest,” he added.
