Actor Vijay launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, earlier this year. Now, the party is gearing up for its first major conference on October 27th in Vikravandi. Following the Bhoomi Poojai ceremony yesterday, Vijay has penned a heartfelt letter to his supporters addressing them as “My dear comrades who reside in my heart.” In the letter, Vijay expressed:

“There hasn’t been a single day, or even a moment, where I haven’t thought about you, and I know it’s the same for you. This bond we share is a pure, familial connection, and it is from that feeling that I write this letter—the very first one. We must work for the people of Tamil Nadu and permanently fulfil the unmet basic needs of those who still require them.

We must achieve this politically, legally, and decisively. This has been a long-standing flame of passion in my heart, burning without ever extinguishing. Today, we have successfully completed the foundation stone ceremony for our first state conference. This marks the beginning of preparations for the conference site.

But, you must also recognize that this is the beginning of our political groundwork. You know very well why this conference is being held, don’t you? Our party’s first state conference will be our political manifesto conference. To put it more clearly, this is our “Festival of Ideologiesâ€â€”our festival of victorious ideologies.

Just saying this ignites a feeling of excitement within us, a feeling that comes naturally to all who truly love their homeland. At this moment, there is one thing I want to emphasize, and it’s something we must always deeply engrave in our minds:

A responsible person is respected by their family. A responsible citizen is respected by their nation. And a person who serves as a role model is admired by the people. It is my deepest desire that all members of our party embody these three qualities.

From the preparations for the conference to participating in it, our party members must act with military-like discipline, and the nation and its people must see and feel this. We must make them understand.

Our party is not like other political movements. It is a powerful force. A battalion of young lions. A battalion of lion-hearted women. A united force of families. So, yes, we can have excitement, celebrations, and enthusiasm, but when we gather, we must show that such a place is not only disciplined but also full of maturity.

Do they know what politics truly means? Do they know what a conference truly represents? Can they stand strong and achieve victory continuously in the field? Many are eager to throw such questions at us.

Only when we successfully organize this conference will they realize. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam is not just a party that entered politics for fame—it is a party that will rise with strength and secure victory in the political field. Those who measure us will soon understand this.

We, who began as a people’s movement, have now transformed into a force that stands with the people, fights with the people, and will secure political rights with the people. Political fieldwork is one thing, and the procedures to achieve it are another. Yes, while it’s important to be swift in the political field, it’s even more important to be wise. And more crucial than being realistic is to be cautious and vigilant in the field.

Taking all this into account, I urge you to begin the work for the conference with determination, enthusiasm, and vigour. I also want to inform you that the leaders responsible for the conference committees, as well as those for the legislative constituencies, will soon be announced.

I wish you success in continuing the conference work in a way that demonstrates to the nation that our unity is our strength.

In this context, the countdown to the conference has already begun in my mind. I’m already measuring the moments of joy we will experience when we meet up close. We will meet soon on the path of victory-on the Victory Road!”
