If you have extensive or severe psoriasis, consider phototherapy as a treatment option.
1.) UVA/UVB exposure is associated with an increased risk of skin cancer, so be careful how much exposure you receive. Always follow your physician’s instructions and make sure cover all areas of untreated skin while in the sun or during therapy sessions with sunscreen.
2.) Always tell your dermatologist about any new medication or herb you are taking because many of these can change your sensitivity to light.
3.) Bathe or shower before your treatment. Never use deodorant, aftershave, perfume, or other personal product before treatment. These may contain chemicals that can make your skin more sensitive to UV light.
