The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the September 21, 2024, gubernatorial election in Edo, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has declared that if elected, he would work tirelessly to be remembered like the former governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Okpebholo, speaking as the APC Governorship Campaign Council brought the campaign to Etsako East and Etsako Central Local Government Areas of the state, thanked the people of Agenebode, Okpilla, and Imiegba for their large turnout and pledged to pursue his five-point agenda.
The agenda, he said, includes health, security, education, road construction, and agriculture.
The governorship candidate told the people that he aspired to be like Oshiomhole, adding, “I will work so I can walk freely on the streets of Edo State after office.”
On his part, Oshiomhole called on the people of the state to vote for the APC on September 21, saying, “I know that you are straightforward, and you have never disappointed. You are consistent.”
He stated that Okpebholo is homegrown, unlike the candidate presented by the Peoples Democratic Party, who he said knows nothing about the people but wants to govern them.
