Know what the female resident wrote

On the night of 18 August, a female resident doctor of SMS Medical College wrote a post in English and posted it in the WhatsApp group of fellow doctors. The Hindi translation of this post is that ‘A resident doctor of the college considers women as objects. He is a womanizer. I am gathering courage. So that his real face can be revealed to everyone. I am not safe at my workplace. Because he has threatened me that he will do something very bad to me. He has political power. Should I wait till then…? This can be anything from rape to murder or anything else. If anything bad happens to me, he will be completely responsible for it. I want action against such people who are criminals like the rapist. I do not want to become the next Abhaya or Nirbhaya. This was the worst experience in my medical life. This person is not worthy of wearing a white coat. I want that women who feel unsafe due to their colleagues should come forward and speak about this. Shame should be felt by such vile people, not us.’

Female resident denied police action

Police station in-charge Sudhir Upadhyay contacted the female resident and asked her to record her statement. On this, the female resident said that she does not want any police action. She has presented her victim before the medical college. Whatever action is to be taken in this matter has to be taken by the medical college administration. After this, the committee formed by the college took action and suspended the accused resident doctor Dr. Dinesh Gulia.
