JOHANNESBURG – On the eNCA SA Morning Soapbox, we ask what should be done to curb telemarketers who repeatedly call you with unsolicited product sales, even after you’ve blocked them?

eNCA reporter Heidi Giokos is out and about getting the views of ordinary South Africans on this issue.

The never-ending direct marketing calls continue to frustrate despite the Information Regulator sounding the alarm and putting measures in place.

The Information Regulator is concerned with the increase in security compromise incidents.

This proves companies still fail to comply with the Popia Act.

Advocate Lebogang Stroom from the Information Regulator, spoke to eNCA in the video below.

  • Episode 1: “Racism Can Make You Sick”

The 1942 lynching of Cleo Wright in Sikeston, Missouri, and conversations with one of the few remaining witnesses launch a discussion about the health consequences of racism and violence in the United States. Host Cara Anthony speaks with history scholar Eddie R. Cole and racial equity scholar Keisha Bentley-Edwards about the physical, mental, and emotional burdens on Sikeston residents and Black Americans in general.

  • Episode 2: “Hush, Fix Your Face”

Racial violence is an experience shared by residents of Sikeston, Missouri, and many Black Americans. Staying silent in the face of this threat is a survival tradition families have passed down to their children to keep them safe. After host Cara Anthony uncovers details of a police killing in her family, she and psychologist Aiesha Lee discuss the silence that surrounds racism and its effects on health across generations — including the reverberations Anthony and her family live with today.

El-Kanemi Warriors and Rivers United both secured away victories in an action-packed Matchday 3 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

In a thrilling encounter at the New Jos Stadium, El-Kanemi Warriors earned their first win of the season by defeating Nasarawa United 4-3 in a dramatic contest.

Nasarawa United started strong, with Amas Yusuf netting twice in the opening 20 minutes to give the home side an early advantage.

However, the visitors responded swiftly as Nasiru Salihu fired back with two quick goals to level the score.

Just before halftime, Alamin Umar put El-Kanemi Warriors ahead, sending them into the break with a 3-2 lead.

The second half saw more drama as Yusuf completed his hat trick for Nasarawa United, equalising once again.

But it was Etagharas 89th-minute penalty that sealed the win for El-Kanemi, marking a memorable match for both teams.

At the Lafia City Stadium, Rivers United continued their impressive form under head coach Finidi George, edging out Lobi Stars 1-0.

Kabir Abdullahis goal in the 72nd-minute penalty secured the victory, extending Finidis unbeaten run with the team to three games.
Despite the win, Finidi played down the significance of the result.

“Every victory, we will take it. Its just a game. This is nothing. We have to go back and prepare for the next game. Thats the philosophy,” the former Super Eagles coach said after the match.

He also looked ahead to their next fixture, a challenging clash against his former club, Enyimba.

“It’s going to be a difficult game,” Finidi admitted, “but I commend the boys for their effort today.”

NPFL action continues on Sunday, with more matches set to take place across various venues.
