Sandeep Narayan is well known for his talent as a vocalist. He is among the top classical Indian music singers of this generation and has released several albums and singles. His marriage to Sadhguru’s daughter in 2014 propelled his fame further, with many interested in his life.

Sandeep Narayan was born in 1985 in Los Angeles, California, to Sri K.S. Narayan (father) and Smt. Shubha Narayan (mother). He is the youngest of three siblings in the family. His brothers are Nikhil Narayan (eldest) and Nirmal Narayan.

Sandeep went to school in the USA until 1996, when he was 11. He relocated to Chennai, India, to receive advanced training in signing under Sri K.S. Krishnamurthy. He, however, returned to the USA later, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Law and Society from the University of California in 2006.

What does Sandeep Narayan do? He is a vocalist and Carnatic music artist from South India. Sandeep began his career in music at a young age. After showing early signs of musical excellence, his mother started teaching him at age four, making his debut in 1996 at 11.

In 1997, he took a break from school in the USA, relocating to India with his mother to receive extensive training in South Indian Classical music.

In 1999, his teacher and mentor guru Sri K.S. Krishnamurthy died. He had been the best mentor, renowned for training some of the best artists. Sandeep moved to another teacher Sri Sanjay Subrahmanyan, a former student of Sri K.S. Krishnamurthy, in June same year.

Sanjay prospered under his stewardship, performing at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana concert in 2001. In 2006 after completing school in the USA, he moved back permanently to India, where he pursued music full-time.

In 2008 Sandeep received the Indian Fine Arts Society Best Sub Senior Vocalist Award in the December Music Festival.
