Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George has been officially unveiled as the new head coach of Rivers United.
George, 54, signed a two-year contract with the club, and the unveiling ceremony took place at Rivers United’s secretariat in Port Harcourt.
He steps into the role following the dismissal of Stanley Eguma towards the end of last season.
Rivers United, who finished in eighth position in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last season, are looking to George to rejuvenate the team and bring them back to their former glory.
George is no stranger to success in the NPFL, having previously led Enyimba to the 2022/2023 NPFL championship.
His experience and expertise as a former Ajax winger and seasoned coach are expected to significantly benefit Rivers United as they aim to climb the league standings in the upcoming season.
