Barely hours after the Kano State Hisbah Board confirmed his arrest for having an affair with a married woman in an incompleted building, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara has denied the allegation.

Sankara in a statement issued on Friday said the allegation of infidelity and drug running against him are false and malicious and should be disregarded.

Noting that the harbingers of the report have aimed to tarnish his reputation by some political agents, Sankara said as a married man he has the utmost respect for his marriage.

“As a married man, I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that violate its sanctity.

“I remain committed to upholding the values and principles that I stand for,” Sankara said.

Also vowing to take legal action against those who spread the misinformation, the commission he is a man of repute and must clear his name.

“I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for disseminating this false information and attempting to harm my person,” he noted.
