Politics tamfitronics
The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called on Nigerian youths to actively participate in politics, saying that it is a crucial way for them to decide their fate and make a difference.
Speaking at The Transforming Church (TTC) in Abuja on Sunday, Governor Otti noted that every society needs the leadership it deserves.
“If you sit back and say politics is for politicians, the politicians will decide everything for you. I am challenging all the young people here, Don’t shy away from politics. That is where decisions about your future are made,” he said.
Referencing Psalms 62:11, he reminded the congregation that power ultimately belongs to God and encouraged the youths not to be afraid of pursuing political power.
“You can make a lot of changes if you have power, and that is what politics will give you to create the changes you want to see in the lives of your people,” he said. He further explained that holding a political office gives one the opportunity to positively impact more lives than imagined.
The Governor also shared his personal experience, noting that he left the banking sector in 2014 to join politics with the aim of making a difference. As a governor, he pointed out that his decisions can affect millions of people in Abia State.
He beckoned on Christians to complement their prayers with hard work, saying, “Your dreams and aspirations will come true if you don’t rely on prayer alone but also put in the effort.”
In his sermon, the church’s lead pastor, Sam Oye, talked about the importance of maintaining strong faith and not giving up on personal dreams. Pastor Oye also highlighted the need for kindness and assured the congregation of the church’s ongoing prayers for leaders like Governor Otti.
